My intention, as a massage therapist, is to assist clients with their self-healing process, as well as from a preventative aspect, being guided by their needs and objectives with acceptance and no judgement. More than just focusing on a symptom or injury, it is supporting the whole individual person, taking into consideration the influences their job, relationships, lifestyle, physical activities and diet exert on their health, condition or training.Holding distinct qualifications increases the chance of meeting different requirements, so, do take a look at the treatments page, it is likely you will find the right one for you - whether prep and recovery for sports and workout sessions or a more holistic course of treatments. If you are still unsure, feel free to contact me to discuss the best approach for you.
Today, we live in an extremely fast-paced world from which often demands focus on having and doing instead of being. Sadly, what we have or do is becoming more important than who we are. I believe that this way of life is creating imbalance in all aspects of our health.Maybe, if we took more time to be and in self-care, it would be easier to tune into our true needs and work towards the accomplishments we aspire to achieve in life. Hence, the ability to focus on the present, be still and clear the mind are also feelings that I wish to bring to clients within and beyond their sessions. Hopefully, this will have a positive impact on their daily life and general health.

About Me
Originally from Brazil, I came to the UK in 1997 to improve my English, having just finished my BA in Translation. From the beginning, I felt a great affinity with the British people, their way of life and diversity (although I’m still getting to grips with the British weather!). Around that time, I met my now husband, born and bred in the Bromley area. We were blessed with a son and a daughter, my greatest source of joy and learning. Raising a family here has strengthened my bond with the UK even more deeply.Coming from such a different professional background, one might wonder why I ended up venturing down the path of aromatherapy and bodywork. The answer is simple! My mother and grandmother have always used their knowledge of plants in our daily lives, so, ‘being healed by nature' has always been part of my life. With regards to bodywork, since coming to the UK, I have had massage treatments from various modalities and I was amazed - from my personal experience - by their effectiveness and the positive changes they can bring about.Once my children were old enough, I went back to studying and took the Diploma course in Aromatherapy and Essential Oil Science at Neal’s Yard Remedies. For two years, I completely immersed myself in the world of the essential oils and human anatomy; the more I learned, the more I wanted to learn, not only for my own edification, but to help others. I felt then that I had finally found my calling in life. Following this and aiming at expanding my area of practice, I took the Diploma course in Soft Tissue Therapy, including sports massage, at the London School of Sports Massage.I am a qualified massage aromatherapist and soft tissue therapist, thoroughly committed to Continuing Professional Development to ensure the highest levels of practice. I am also a member of IFPA - The International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists and ISRM - The Institute of Sport & Remedial Massage. I am extremely enthusiastic about both approaches to bodywork, and, being so distinct from one another, hopefully, most people will find a treatment that suits their needs and objectives.
Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is an art and a science that has been used for thousands of years by several ancient civilisations. It is a holistic treatment which uses plant extracts or essential oils to assist the body in its innate ability to heal itself, prevent imbalances and promote well-being.Essential oils are extracted from several parts of plants including roots, seeds, leaves, flowers, wood, peel of fruits. Used topically (diluted in a vegetable carrier oil) or by inhalation, their therapeutic properties and beautiful scent have the potential to bring about positive changes on physiological and psychological levels. Many essential oils have a complex chemical composition and, because each one of them is so unique, an accurate, well-thought-out and bespoke blend for each individual client is of utmost importance – not only to maximise the potential power of the essential oils’ therapeutic properties, but also to avoid adverse effects. One of the most enjoyable ways to experience the effects of aromatherapy is through a massage treatment. More than a 'luxurious treat', it is profoundly nurturing for the body and mind.Make sure to always choose a qualified aromatherapist, trained at a well-established institution, so that a high level of practice can be expected.
Essential Oils Safety
Essential oils are highly concentrated and should not be applied directly to the skin; they should be diluted in a vegetable carrier oil and their contact with sensitive areas, such as eyes and mucous membranes should be avoided.A qualified aromatherapist should be consulted for the use of essential oils during pregnancy, for children, the elderly, the frail, those with sensitive skin, pre-existing medical conditions and if taking prescribed medication. Further consent from a GP or consultant may still be necessary.Essential oils should only be purchased from a reputable supplier to ensure their provenance, safety, efficacy and to avoid adulteration. Beware of price-for-all-oils, as essential oils costs vary greatly for reasons ranging from methods of extraction, storage and handling to the rarity of a specific plant.Essential oils are active agents, many carry contraindications and some are toxic. They should NOT be used or taken internally, unless prescribed and administered by a practitioner qualified to do so.
Soft Tissue Therapy
Soft tissue therapy (sports massage) has progressed and expanded greatly over the last decades to include treatments not only for elite sportspeople, but also for those who practise sports as part of their lifestyle, and beyond, to support those living with minor chronic pain.It is a person-centred therapy, which takes into account all the aspects of one's life and the impact they exert on their health, condition or training. The idea is to influence the neuromuscular system in order to release tension and tightness, hence reducing restrictions and easing off aches and pains.Make sure to always choose a qualified soft tissue therapist, trained at a well-established institution, so that a high level of practice can be expected.
The Importance of a Consultation
Sometimes clients are surprised by how thorough their initial consultation is - after all, "It is just a massage treatment!". It is only by making sure that there are no contraindications for their treatment and by understanding their needs, objectives and expectations, that I will be able to provide a safe and bespoke treatment. With that in mind, please read below what to expect when coming over for a treatment.
